In addition to providing the typical accounting services, John acts as a financial liaison for his clients, guiding them through their growth cycle.  From a local CPA firm to a Big "4" firm, John has absorbed a full range of experience.  The culmination of that experience has resulted in our new office in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.    We have a healthy mix of clients from across the street to across the country.  We leverage our Big "4" type experience to help our  clients grow and prosper. Our website presence has given us a very diverse, broad client mix of not for profit organizations, corporations and LLCs. We typically do not prepare individual taxes for our non business clients.

Our Credentials:

In addition to being a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), we are licensed to prepare taxes in all 50 states and US possessions.   We are also Authorized Efile Providers with the Internal Revenue Services and all States offering Electronic Filing.

Our Technology:

Technology is at the forefront of our firm. We are authorized to efile in all jurisdictions offering it.  By communicating and transferring data electronically, we save time and money for our clients.  Receiving information by fax and email is now more common than ever. Add to that our capability of emailing our clients copies of the tax returns for review to the efiling options, our clients don't even have to leave their home or office....  We are in constant contact with our clients throughout the entire year through our website, email as well as telephone.

Our Professionals:

John Vazzana John was born and raised in Brooklyn, and lives and works in Bay Ridge.  John  brings over sixteen years of public accounting experience to Accounting Concepts. Prior to establishing the practice, John's experience ranged from Local to Nation to "Big 4" Certified Public Accounting Firms. In addition to his current professional affiliation with the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants,  John has published articles for business publications including the CPA Journal.  Currently John serves on the  on the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Not For Profit Organization Committee. John has also served on the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants financial planning committee for two years.  John holds a B.S. Degree (Accounting) from City University of New York at Brooklyn College and an M.S. Degree (Taxation) from City University of New York at Baruch College. John was also an adjunct professor at City University of New York  where he instructed students in Accounting and Taxation. John's focus is in not for profit organization audits, production accounting and corporate tax services.

Lacey Cooper Lacey is the one who keeps the office running. In addition to supporting the staff, she is all in charge of marketing and promotions. She is highly organized, hard working, and has a bright personality. Lacey moved to Bay Ridge from Springfield, Missouri last fall and joined Accounting Concepts as the Office Manager in October, 2008.
